Girdle Stanes

Girdle Stanes

Eskdalemuir, United Kingdom (GB)
The Girdle Stanes is a stone circle located in the Scottish county of Dumfries and Galloway. The stone circle is believed to have had about 40-45 stones in total, but only 26 of the original stones remain today as the western section of the stone circle has been washed away due to the erosion of river White Esk. The remaining stones stand in a field with sheep and form a half circle which can clearly be seen from ariel footage.

Nearby is the Loupin Stanes which is another stone circle.
