Illinois vanity license plate

A Chevrolet Corvette on downtown Chicago's Michigan Avenue is seen here with "BLKICE" vanity license plates.

The "AR" suffix on the plate refers to the special America Remembers license plate design, which memorializes the September 11 terrorist attack. Proceeds from these plates went towards aiding victims of terror attacks and providing Illinois agencies with training and equipment to prevent future attacks.

My speculation is this plate refers to GM's black ice paint color. It might also refer to the Blackhawks ice hockey team.
