The Primo Nebiolo Stadium, in Parco Ruffini, is the cradle of Torino athletics: a jewel in a sea of green, located in one of the most beautiful parks in the city. Its particular shape – the lowered track, wide stands and a crown of trees all around- makes it pleasant for both athletes and spectators: the view is perfect from every seat in the stands and the athletes can better feel the enthusiasm of the spectators who seem to be on the track.

During recent years, several refurbishing projects have been undertaken in the stadium: in 2000 a new track in sportflex was laid and on the podium (as used at the Sydney Olympic Games), in 2002 the lighting was improved (and inaugurated at the Meeting, held for the first time in the evening) and this year the stands in front of the track leading to the finishing line was roofed, creating a press stand, underneath which the fully-equipped offices were completed and a covered training track were built.

The stadium was dedicated to Primo Nebiolo on the occasion of the celebrations in his memory, on June 8th 2000. At the gateway there is a monumental, stylized “N” reproducing the impetus of a athletics track leading up to the sky.

The building, built in Carrara marble was designed by the architect Enrico Tagliatesta. The stadium can easily be reached both from the city center, and the motorways.
