Alex/Aleck Miller (or Ford) aka Sonny Boy Williamson II (1912- 5/24/1965) was a blues harmonica player, singer song writer. He started his career in the 1930's travelling around the delta as a sharecropper were he encountered heavyweights like Big Joe Williams, Elmore James, Robert Lockwood, Jr., and Robert Johnson.

In 1941 he was hired to play the King Biscuit Time show in Helena, Arkansas. Here he met musicians Elmore James, Houston Stackhouse, Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup, Robert Nighthawk and others. It was in Helena he received the name Sonny Boy Williamson from the programs sponsor in an attempt to capitalize on the original Sonny Boy's (Chicago harmonica player) name. 1949 he moved to West Memphis and lived with his sister and her husband, Howlin' Wolf. It was here he was able to get his own radio show and his career blossomed.

Williamson's music influenced countless artists. Some include: Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Mose Allison, John Mayall, Led Zeppelin, The Who and a slew more.
