Troy Landry has appeared in all seasons of Swamp People and Pierre Part, where he lives, is approximately 1 1/2 hours from New Orleans (almost due South).
His family has deep roots in the region – five generations of Landrys have been shrimpers, trappers, fishermen, moss peddlers, lumberjacks and hunters. His wife Bernita is a History Channel publicist.
Landry's home in Pierre Part is constructed of cypress that was pulled log-by-log from nearby swamps over a period of 30 years. The home is the realization of Landry's dream - built without a single piece of sheetrock, and part of the environment in which he and his family make their livelihood. In an article about the home, Landry tells the story of how he was able to get the cypress by carefully storing each log that he pulled out of the swamps in a big shed until he had enough for construction. "When I had enough logs, I gave half of the lumber to the sawmill to have it sawed for me.” The home is positioned on a sliver of high ground along a two-lane highway between Baton Rouge and Morgan City,
Troy Landry's net worth is approximately $650 thousand.
