Here's some categories to consider -- after the contest, of course:
Buildings - Banks Lots of fancy bank buildings out there, plus we have cats like Casinos, Hotels, Dining, Retail, and others which otherwise would just be under Companies. Government - International For buildings for international agencies such as the UN, NATO, etc. Government-National-Foreign isn't appropriate for them because they are beyond national.
Also, I kind of question the Casinos cat. I can't think of any casinos worth posting that aren't also hotels.

Casinos in Europe are usually not hotels (the ones I've been to anyway - Venice and Monte Carlo).
I like your other categories. I don't know what we' should call them but I was thinking we should also have a category for factories / plants.
Also refineries are categorized as resources. Maybe bust up resources into refineries, mines, wells, etc.
Good ideas, thanks.

I just noticed that my earlier postings of th IMF and World Bank are categorized as Govt -- United States as well. But I'm not sure they would qualify as International -- Govt either.
Organizations like the Red Cross don't fit nicely into the govt or company categories either.

Hmm. Maybe Buildings -> International Organizations would be best. Some would not consider the UN to be government. But in some examples, UN organizations or programs do operate somewhat in a governmental capacity.
I would also agree with a Factories cat. Maybe Buildings -> Manufacturing?
How about splitting Resources into cats indicating the type of resource? Such as: Resource -> Salt Resource -> Oil Resource -> Coal Resource -> Stone Resource -> Gems Resource -> Minerals Resource -> Other etc.

Perhaps could you be more precise in the "Power - Misc" categorie. Tidal power, Wind power, coal plants, solar plants, differents dams etc... For the windmills, I suggest to split WindPower and old mills with millers.
About the "castles" it's hard to separate categories... Forts, medieval castles, ruins, fortresses, kraks, fortified cities or citadels, châteaux, Renaissance castles, Towers... It's difficult to choose between place, size, epoch. A lot of medieval castles are renaissance ones too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castles

Maybe Power - Hydro instead of Dam, to be slightly more general, and to make it less a duplicate of Building -> Dam.

How about separating Buildings --> Scientific into:
Buildings --> Scientific - Astronomy (for Observatories and Planetariums) Buildings --> Scientific - Misc

hey!
couple things: i just submitted some oil tanks. umm, the thing i'm scratching my head over is there's nothing natural about them. An oil tank is more of a building of some sort.
Also sometimes there's almost nothing natural about a park. of course the natural land was there first... but that might not always be the case such as a park of green grass in Phoenix, Arizona or Las Vegas. Sometimes parks have a playground, swimming pool, tennis, basketball, softball, baseball, soccer, snack stand, restrooms, parking lot and sometimes some misc etc extra items... that's a whole lotta stuff that ain't quite natural, know what I'm sayin'?
But there are some areas called parks that are truly natural... mostly... for now. Could (should?) some consideration be made to calling (some or all) parks Land features like a golf course rather than a Natural feature like Mount Everest?
Just some thoughts. Adios, CW
