Baseball in Britain?

Baseball in Britain? (Google Maps)

Rumour has it that there are a few abject players of American Baseball in the UK. Here, Allen Field in Manchester is home to the half-dozen teams of the Manchester baseball club. This waypoint looks suspiciously like four bases and a pitcher's mound, though not perhaps in true American field style. Could it be?

I've seen baseball diamonds on active RAF bases. They're usually the ones with lots of funny antennas and no active runways, if you get my drift.

The site appears to be some sort of sports club or site. It is quite possibly a pitch for rounders, a game similar to baseball.

You're right about baseball diamonds at bases with antennas and no runways.

Well, football is infinitely more popular, that is, REAL football, not the silly sport where men in stretchy tights run with a ball and only kick it once... :P

Oh, you mean the type of 'football' where men run around in shorts all day and the score ends up a 1 to 1 tie? {;^)

Hey, don't forget lawn bowling. They're big on that, too.
