When owned by Irish Ferries, a subsidiary of the Irish Continental Group, it operated on services between France and Ireland.
The vessel was built in Finland by Wärtsilä-Werft and was launched in 1987. It has an overall length of 164.5m and beam of 28.40m. It has the capacity to carry 1,458 passengers with 580 cars /62 lorries.
