On Tuesday 22nd August 2023, Jose EA7GV, a radio amateur from Spain, reached the summit of Almirez and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 36 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m, 20m and 17m amateur radio bands.
