Gerisa was an ancient Roman city located in modern-day Libya. Originally the area was home to a small group of inhabitants in a small local settlement. When the Romans came, they started to develop the area and created the city of Gerisa The population were primarily Berberian, but some Roman legions started to settle there during the reign of Augustus. The city was later expanded three times under the command of Emperors Hadrian, Septimius and Quintus Anicius Faustus. Quintus Anicius Faustus being the more notable one of them.
Many of the buildings in Gerisa still stand today and are in good condition.
