Longyearbyen, Svalbard and Jan Mayen (SJ)
On 5th May 2002 a group of radio amateur on a DXpedition to Svalbard, reached the summit of Arctowskifjellet and activated the summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

The operators at the summit used the callsign JW9DSA and the group comprised the following operators Lauris (LB1RH), Mikhail (LB8CG) from Norway and Manual (HB9DQM) from Switzerland.

The Svalbard Islands have the Radio Society of Great Britain Islands on the Air (“IOTA”) reference EU-026).
