Aston Martin memorial stone

Aston, United Kingdom (GB)
The famous British car Aston Martin got half of its name from this place, Aston hill where Lionel Martin ascended the 0.75-mile (1.2 km) 262-foot (80 metre) hill in his tuned-up Singer car on Saturday 4 April 1914. As the story goes, his wife suggested to insert the name Aston before Martin so that it could be ahead of its rivals in the telephone directory and other lists.

The heading of marker stone says: '
The Origin of Aston Martin'
