On Saturday 24th September 2022, Richard KJ7RTO, a radio amateur from Sedro Woolley, WA reached the summit of Big Craggy Peak and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 10 contacts in total working on the 20 metre HF amateur radio band.
