Bjerreby Jættestue (Passage Grave)

Rudkobing, Denmark (DK)
Bjerreby Jættestue is a passage grave dating back to the Neolithic era located on the Danish island of Langeland. The site is located next to a wooded area at the edge of a field. A natural path has been created so visitors and reach it without disturbing the field. The mound is still visible but the top of it has been destroyed due to ploughing and erosion and now reveals the megalithic stones used for its construction. The capstones that covered the passage have been removed only leaving the support stones. However, the burial chamber still has its large capstones and is also enterable.
