On Saturday 30th July 2022 a group of French radio amateurs using the callsign TM1SOTA reached the summit of Cîme de la Bonette and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group. The special callsign “TM1SOTA” was being used to mark the occasion of the 15th anniversary of SOTA.

They made 14 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Cîme de la Bonette is 2860 metres (9383 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
