Cape Fie - Bouvet Island (AN-002) in Bouvet Island, Bouvet Island (Google Maps)

Between 6 February and 14 February 2023, a team of radio amateurs lead by three Norwegians (Kenneth LA7GIA, Rune LA7THA and Erwann LB1QI) mounted a DXpedition to Bouvet Island. Their camp was established at Cape Fie on the southeast coast of the island.

While on the island, the team used the callsign ‘3Y0J' and were active on CW, SSB and Digital modes across the 160, 80m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, and 10m amateur radio bands.

The team made 16,800 contact during their stay on the Bouvet Island.

Bouvet Island is an overseas dependency of Norway in the South Atlantic Ocean. It sits on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and is the tip of a shield volcanic which has been trust above the waves. Bouvet Island is widely regard as the most remote island in the world.
