Carl Boberg (August 16. 1859 in Mönsterås - January 7. 1940 in Kalmar) was a Swedish poet, author, preacher and politician. He mainly wrote religious hymns, one of them was the Hymn "O store Gud" from 1886 which was translated into English in 1949 from Russian language and became the hymn "How Great Thou Art", the melody is an old Swedish melody.

It's the second most popular hymns after "Amazing Grace".
