My 200th capture!
The Chevrolet Cobalt, also available in SS trim, was remembered as the brand's compact offering in the mid-late 2000s as the Cavalier's replacement, and to us Virtual Globetrotters, Google's original street view car. However, it was caught up in a scandal and a large-scale recall involving a faulty ignition switch affecting millions of GM products, including 700,000 Cobalts. In fact, this was the car that started the recall, killing a teenager in 2005 as a brand-new car by suddenly losing power while in operation. Since GM knew about the incidents for over a decade, the NTHSA fined the company $35 million for that.
