On Wednesday 20th March 2024 at 14:56 UTC, Fred DL8XDL a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Geri OK/DF7DF/P a radio amateur also from Germany who was operating from CHKO Luzicke hory (OKFF-0010) on the 40m amateur radio band.
CHKO Luzicke hory (OKFF-0010), is a protected area of 27,072 hectares of land north of Ceska Lipa in the north of the Czech Republic. It was designated as a Protected Landscape in 1976 and is an IUCN Management Category V area.
An IUCN Management Category V area is a lived-in working landscape, where the interaction of people with the natural landscape has resulted in a landscape with significant biological, ecological and scenic value.
