On Monday 19th June 2023, Colwyn EI/M0YCJ/P, a radio amateur from Scotland reached the summit of Coomacarrea and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 19 contacts in total working on the 40m and 20m amateur radio bands.
