The English government has just sold to the Anglo-Algerian Coaling C, 4 sea barges which bear the names of “Cretacite”, “Cretecoal”, “Cretecoke and “Cretell”. These barges were built in 1919, in Tilbury, by Chantiers Christiani and Nielsen.

The hull is made of concrete and divided into 5 compartments, with a gross tonnage of approximately 690 tons. Dimensions: 54.86 X 10.80 × 4.88.

In 1918 and 1919, the English government had built a hundred of these barges. A few were sold to Norwegian shipowners. The qua. being we are talking about here are the first to carry the French flag
