The Fox Theatre is a performing arts center in Downtown Detroit, Michigan that opened in 1928 as a flagship "atmospheric" movie palace in the Fox Theatres chain. The Detroit Fox is one of five Fox Theatre movie palaces built in the late 1920s by film pioneer William Fox, and was the first movie theater in the world to be designed with built-in equipment for sound films.
