Devinska Kobyla Missile Base

Devinska Kobyla Missile Base

Bratislava, Slovakia (SK)
Completed in 1983, this abandoned missile base combines a pleasant forest hike with urban exploration. The base was built as a part of the Warsaw Pact to provide defense against NATO air raids. It was abandoned around 1996, and the mostly concrete structures are being reclaimed by nature. There are at about 15 buildings and missile storage bunkers remaining.
