On Sunday 3rd July 2022 Katsu JR8MHA/0 a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Eburisashidake and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 19 contacts in total working on the 40, 30 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
