On Friday 11th August 2023, Masanori JO2BWZ/9, a radio amateur from Japan, reached the summit of Ecchuukomagatake and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 11 contacts in total working on the 70cm and 40m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Ecchuukomagatake is 2003 metres (6572 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Ecchuukomagatake is in the Toyama Prefecture on Honshu Island.
