Edward Lapidge was an English architect, who held the post of county surveyor of Surrey and designed Kingston Bridge.
This was one of Lapidge's two similarly named residences. This one, 'The Grove House', dates back to 1669, when it was know as 'Brick House'. This property served as his family home. It was converted into offices in 1966.
