On Saturday 23rd March 2024 at 10:31 UTC, Horst DD7UW, a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Bob M0MJA/P, a radio amateur from southern England who was operating from the English Riviera Geopark on the 20m amateur radio band. Bob made a total of 205 contacts while he was in the Torbay area.

Torbay in Devon, southwest England was designated as a Geopark in 2007 by UNESCO. The geopark has a total area of 10,390 Hectares (split 4,150 Hectares marine and 6,240 Hectares land). Torbay is one of the two urban geoparks in the UK.

Torbay received its designation due to its unique geology and natural environment. However, the geopark also has areas show cases the local heritage including culture, history, archaeology and biodiversity.
