Fanø Island is the northern most of the Danish Wadden Sea Islands which are off the southwestern coast of Denmark. At the closest point iit s a mere 1.24km away over the Wadden Sea. The island is approximately 3km (1.9 miles) wide and 16km (9.9 miles) Long.

Between 22 April 2023 and 28 April 2023, the 5P5FI Team of amateur radio operators from Belgium were on Fanø Island.

The team (ON6WD, ON6VJ, ON1BN, ON7VM, ON4AWT, ON9DJ and ON7TA) used the callsign – 5P5FI while on the island and were activate on CW, and Digital modes across all amateur radio bands from 160m to 6m.
