Whitwell was a station on Isle of Wight. The station opened 20th July 1897 and closed 15th September 1952. The station was opened by the Newport, Godshill & St. Lawrence Railway and closed by British Railways (Southern Region).
What's left today:
Both platforms still remain, but the gap between the platforms have been infilled up to platform level - although the platform edges are still visible. The station has been completely restored with a new canopy, a station sign and the waiting rooms have been converted into two holiday cottages.
