Giant Koi Geoglyph.

Giant Koi Geoglyph.

Axilecun, China (CN)
Here is a 266 meter long representation of a Koi.
The are the sometimes very expensive and colorful cousin to the common carp. Koi are the product of centuries of selective breeding and make up a large part of Chinese art and culture.
This piece of art is built on a bend just over one kilometer downstream from the dam wall.

The dam construction was started around the year 2000 and completed around 2005 flooding the valley and slowly submerging the townships of Axilecun and Tokkuztara Dairy Farm in Xinjiang, China.

I can only presume both the art and the dam were built at the same time.
There may be little or no information of the artwork or the artist.
