On Wednesday 10th January 2024, Reinhard OE7RGF/P, a radio amateur from Austria, reached the summit of Gilfert and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 25 contacts in total working on the 40m, 20m, 17m and 15m amateur radio bands.
