Golden Fire Hydrant

Golden Fire Hydrant

San Francisco, California (CA), US
After the Earthquake in 1906, fires ravaged San Francisco. Much of the city's water system had been damaged and many fire hydrants had no water. Miraculously, this fire hydrant did have water which was used to stop the fire from moving south of this point. It gets a fresh coat of gold paint every year.
