On Saturday 20th August 2022, Jany LZ1GJ/P and Vasil LZ1WF/P two radio amateurs from Bulgaria reached the summit of Golyam Perelik and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 15 contacts in total working on the 20 metre HF radio band.

The summit of Golyam Perelik is 2190 metres (7185 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
