The airport on the island of Guernsey is situated on the summit of a low hill at 107m (351 feet) above sea level.
The summit has the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group reference GU/GU-002 and is one of only two SOTA summits in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
At 12:50UTC on the 17th June 2023, Phil GU4OBK/P, who was holidaying on Guernsey and activating the summit for the SOTA group made contact with Martin 2E0BIA/P, on the 40m amateur radio band, who was activating another summit for the Group (G/SP-004 - Shining Tor in the South Pennines). Phil made several other contacts while he was at the summit.
