On Saturday 6th January 2024, Piju 9M2JJ/P & Rahmat 9M2RMT, two radio amateurs from West Malaysia, reached the summit of Gunung Brinchang and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 31 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Gunung Brinchang is 2032 metres (6667 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
