On Sunday 23rd July 2023, Tia YB1TIA & Agoes YB1EGP two radio amateurs from Indonesia, reached the summit of Gunung Cikuray and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 31 contacts in total working on the 2m, 40m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Gunung Cikuray is 2821 metres (6972 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
