On Saturday 18th November 2023, Ajib YG3DEB, a radio amateur from East Java, Indonesia reached the summit of Gunung Merapi and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 5 contacts in total working on the 15m amateur radio band.
