Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex

This memorial complex was opened by the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, approximately on 6th October 2014, Memorial Day.

The complex has been designed to honour those who died in the Ashgabat Earthquake in 1948, the battel near Goek Depe and to honour victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

Monuments in the complex include Bakry sohrat (Eternal Glory), Milletin orgullary (Sons of the Nation) and Ruhy Tagzym (dedicated to the victims of Ashgabat Earthquake in 1948.

The complex also houses a museum “Watan mukaddesligi” (The sanctity of the homeland).

The complex has a large paved square but also has lawns, flowerbeds, fountains, benches and decorative lamps.
