Early 17th century — enhancement of the fortifications with 7 bastions
1634-1636 — destroyed by catholic forces in the Thirty Years' War.
1660-1678 — reconstruction and modernization
1681 — voluntary destruction to prevent an attack by French forces
1684 — fire destroys the upper part
1688 — Occupation and subsequent demolition by troops of Louis XIV
Today, the Hochburg is still a ruin.
