On Friday 8th September 2023, Herald OE5LHM/P, a radio amateur from Austria, reached the summit of Hochsteller and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 12 contacts in total working on the 20m amateur radio band.
