The House of Assembly has a total of 13 members, 7 of whom are elected for a 5-year term in single-seat constituencies. There are 4 members elected at-large and 2 ex officio members, namely the Attorney General and the Permanent Secretary of Finance.

The head of state appoints the Governor of Anguilla who is the Monarch's representative in the Territory. The Governor, currently Julia Crouch, appoints the Premier from amongst the elective members of Hose of Assembly who selects his cabinet who act as the executive branch of government.
