Howardian Hills NL (GFF-0254)

On Tuesday 2nd April 2024 at 08:31 UTC, Guy ON3DWG, a radio amateur from Belgium made contact with Darius M0KCB/P, a radio amateur from north-west England who was operating from the Howardian Hills NL (GFF-0254) on the 40m amateur radio band. Darius made a total of 70 contacts while at the NLA.

The Howardian Hills NL (GFF-0254) covers 20,400 hectares in the north-east of England between the Vale of York, the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. It was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ("ANOB")in 1987.

Forming a distinctive, clearly defined geographical area, The Howardian Hills consist of wooded ridges, plateaux, hills, undulating countryside with several prominent limestone scarps.
