On Thursday 6th October 2022, Dean K2JB and Scott NZ4R, two radio amateurs from Asheville, NC reached the summit of Huckleberry Knob and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 41 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 30, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
