The Jamaica Wine House is the site of the first coffee house in London and was opened by Pasqua Rosée in 1652 possibly under the name "The Turk's Head". English diarist Samuel Pepys frequented the shop in 1660. The building was destroyed during the Great Fire of London in 1666.
