This monumental rock marks the spot where on July 6, 1415 Czech theologian, philosopher and reformer Jan Hus was burned at the stake. He was condemned for his views on the church such as the moral failings of the clergy and the papacy. Hus's beliefs are considered a predecessor to Protestantism.
