On Sunday 13th August 2023, JO2SYG, a radio amateur from Japan, reached the summit of Jirougyu and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 12 contacts in total working on the 70cm and 2m amateur radio bands.
