John Parr (July 19. 1897 – August 21. 1914) was a Commonwealth soldier in the Great War. He is concidered to be the first army soldier of the British empire to be killed in the war at the front line.

He is buried at St Symphorien Military Cemetery near Mons, Belgium. On the pavement at the house a memorial is placed.
