Juurikkasuo - Vehka and Uujilamp (OHFF-1400)

On Wednesday 6th March 2024 at 16:54 UTC, Reinhard DK3UA a radio amateur from Germany recorded on the GMA Dashboard (www.cqgma.org/ds2001.php) that Jukka OH4MFA a radio amateur from Pieksämäki was operating from Viher-Anttila (OHFF-1773) on the 40 m amateur radio band.

Juurikkasuo - Vehka and Uujilampi is a Natura 2000 protected area close to the town of Pieksämäki in southern Finland. The protected area of 195 Hectares includes bogs and swamps which support very little vegetation, while in other parts lakes and ponds, which are rich in nutrients, and support abundant plant growth.

The Natura 2000 network extends across the European Unioin and protects many of Europe's most valuable and threatened habitats and species.
