Karel Gott (14. July 1939 – 1. October 2019) was a Czech singer and amateur painter. His nickname was "The Golden Voice of Praque). Beside being famous in his home country he was also famous in German speaking countries because of his songs in German.

His debut in Germany was in 1967 singing the "Dr. Schiwago" song in German "Weißt du wohin".

1975 he also became famous for the children when he sang the intro to the cartoon series "Die Biene Maja", Maja, the Bee".
