On Friday 2nd June 2023, Waka 9W6/JG0AWE, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Kinabalu, Lows Peak and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 15 contacts in total working on the 2m and 20m amateur radio bands.
